For 80million Euros I Can’t See Spurs Completing This Deal, Even If We Have An Interest

|

With Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy recently doubling down on his claim that the costs of our new White Hart Lane won’t overly effect manager Mauricio Pochettino’s available transfer funds in the future, Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele is getting another wind on the rumour mill.

The 22-year-old largely continues to impress for this French Ligue 1 side and the French international now boasts 39 appearances across all competitions (and international action) in the 2018/19 campaign – returning two goals.

The latest round of speculation seems to have been sparked by Italian outlet Calciomercato who claimed over the weekend that Serie A side Juventus were now ready to give the green light to organising a transfer for next summer.

The claims are unsourced and unqualified as is now the fashion in football and the typical pack of clubs are linked – Manchester United, Spurs and Manchester City which always raises a flag – but with the suggestion that Lyon would hold out for a fee of between 75-80million Euros, I don’t for a second believe we’d sanction that kind of spend on one player.

That won’t stop the speculation though.
