FA Cup Opponents Announced

|

The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup has been completed this evening, and a tie away to either Wrexham or Sheffield United awaits Tottenham Hotspur.

The draw was completed live on ITV just before Derby County’s encounter with West Ham at Pride Park, where former Arsenal player Alex Scott drew the home sides, and ex-Spurs man Jermaine Jenas drew the away sides.

Wrexham have made all the headlines for having Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Macelheny as their owners, and did little to shy away from the fanfare surrounding the North Welsh outfit with an entertaining 3-3 draw at home to Sheffield United yesterday.

The replay at Bramall Lane will take place next week, and the winner gets to host Antonio Conte’s Spurs, who overcome Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday night.

Ties will be played on the week commencing February 27th, with ties being decided on the night after extra-time and penalties as replays are no longer in order after the fourth round of the competition.

The draw in full is as follows:

  • Wrexham/Sheffield United vs Spurs
  • Manchester United vs West Ham United/Derby County
  • Ipswich/Burnley vs Fleetwood Town/Sheffield Wednesday
  • Southampton vs Luton/Grimsby
  • Fulham/Sunderland vs Leeds United
  • Leicester City vs Birmingham City/Blackburn Rovers
  • Bristol City vs Manchester City
  • Stoke City vs Brighton and Hove Albion
