Mauricio Pochettino can’t decide who will be his first-choice right-back at Tottenham this season, having so far alternated between Kyle Walker-Peters, Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier after selling Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid.
But despite having three options, Spurs could be signing a replacement in January and Adrian Kajumba of the Daily Mail says the Lilywhites are interested in Nathan Ferguson.
The 19-year-old is available for sale as he’s out of contract next summer and could leave on a free transfer in the coming months. West Bromwich Albion could lose the England u20 international for £300k (compensation fee) if he joins an overseas club on a Bosman deal, so they want to cash in early.
Tottenham view Ferguson as a ‘long-term solution’, but they’ll have stiff competition from a Crystal Palace side looking to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The fullback has made 13 appearances this season, scoring and creating two goals, and could have a bright future under the right guidance.
Who should start at right-back for Tottenham Hotspur?
Serge Aurier
Juan Foyth
Kyle Walker-Peters
With three players to challenge for a starting place at Tottenham, Ferguson would have a tough task of breaking into the first-team. He could be signed and loaned back to West Brom for the remainder of the campaign, but the Daily Mail say Albion are still trying to tie him down to a five-year deal.
