Explained: What Tottenham plan to do with Jack Clarke

|

Jack Clarke is having a disappointing season back at Leeds United after returning on loan from Tottenham and could be on the move when the January transfer window opens.

The 18-year-old made 25 appearances last season but has struggled for playing time in 2019/20. Clarke has featured only twice in the EFL Cup and hasn’t racked up a single minute of football in the Championship.

According to Tony Banks of the Express, Tottenham could recall the winger using a release clause in his loan deal and plan to offer him out to other clubs in January.

Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are reportedly keen on his signature and could make a move for Clarke when the winter transfer window opens.

It’s hard to see the teenager getting playing time at Tottenham due to competition from Christian Eriksen, Heung-min Son, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura, but Clarke isn’t getting anything by staying at Leeds.

If Marcelo Bielsa continues to leave the winger out of the matchday squad, he’s better off staying in London. Pochettino has helped to develop a lot of young talent at Totenham, so Clarke would be in good hands.
