Explained: Tottenham may have to pay £30m and £0.8m salary for Englishman

According to Charlie Hyett of The Sun, Tottenham are interested in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Kieran Trippier being linked with a move to Everton and Serge Aurier being placed on the transfer list for half of what Spurs paid for him just 18 months ago.

The Londoners will have competition for Wan-Bissaka, however, with Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund reportedly keen on the Crystal Palace defender’s signature. Charlie Hyett wrote in The Sun last month that Tottenham will have to pay in excess of £30m for the 21-year-old.

He currently earns £0.8m-a-year/£15k-per-week at Palace and could be in line for a payrise if he joined Tottenham, although the Eagles have no intention to sell the defender. Wan-Bissaka has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Palace since climbing through the youth ranks to the first-team in January 2018. He could be in the England squad before too long.

In addition to scoring and creating two goals in the Premier League this season, the right-back has averaged a tackle (109) or interception (60) every 14 minutes. He’s created 11 chances, made 45 successful dribbles and has whipped in 46 crosses with 22% accuracy.
