Speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele with a January switch to China came up a few days ago but it appeared the press had jumped the gun when it came to his impending departure.

With Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan rebuffing speculation that a potential £11million deal had been agreed with Spurs for the 31-year-old, and only simply confirming that there was an offer on the table, were reporting earlier today that the player had now flown out to China to hold talks with the club.

With Dembele back in training following his recent ankle injury, he hasn’t yet returned to contention for manager Mauricio Pochettino as he continues to rebuild his fitness, and plenty of fans had wondered if this deal would stall owing to the injury Moussa Sissoko picked up at the weekend, but with that not believed to be too serious, it looks like it’s full steam ahead.
