Following reports this week from The Guardian that Tottenham had joined the race for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, a potential deal for the Polish international is seemingly starting to grow some legs.

Sky Sports News now report that Spurs have held talks with the Serie A giants over a potential deal for the 24-year-old attacker, with Tottenham desperately on the hunt for a natural striker to replace Harry Kane after it was revealed yesterday that the England captain will be out of action until April.
And whilst Piatek has been disappointing this season, it is easy to forget just how prolific the centre-forward was in his breakout campaign in Serie A, with stats from Transfermarkt showing that the Polish international hit 30 goals in 42 appearances for both AC Milan and Genoa, figures that got some Tottenham fans on social media excited about a potential deal.
Here’s what a few Tottenham fans had to say about Piatek on Twitter…
Exactly who we need

Don’t care about stats from this season. Piatek is typical striker. He needs creative players around him. In Milan he hasn’t quality mates. Alli, Son, Lucas are much better than Suso, Kessie or Hakan. This transfer is good move for everyone.

Please make this happen. With Kane gone for 3 months Sonny and Lucas won’t be enough. They’re better on the wing anyway

0.71 is as good as Rolando and Messi. Cavani and Dybala have less than 0.5 goal per game.

That said, let’s get behind the lad and back him

The Sun have also reported that a deal has been agreed by Spurs for the signing of Piatek.
