The summer transfer rumour mill has linked Tottenham Hotspur with a move for impressive Everton loanee Andre Gomes, but it now seems that we may have an interest in a real stand out star of theirs from the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.
With Gomes speculation going quiet, back in the middle of May the Daily Star made a completely speculative claim that we would try and deal with the Goodison Park outfit this summer and swap Danny Rose for Lucas Digne.
The original report had nothing of substance to it, so most, like me, simply ignored it and filed it in the ‘invented’ box.
There’s no doubting that the 25-year-old had a fantastic year as he seriously impressed in his 35 starting appearances, chipping in with four goals and four assists from the left back spot, and Spurs are just one of the clubs said to be preparing a bid of some kind.
Speaking this week to RMC Sport Digne appeared to rule out interest from Lyon, so it’s left many wondering if it was a subtle come and get me plea.
“A return to France, OL? I’m not aware. I am aware of the interest of other clubs, but not of Lyon.”
“I feel good Everton, I was able to play all the matches, we had a good season and a project is underway, the club will invest again. You are never sure of anything in football, but I feel very good there.”
From what I saw, He’d be a good addition for sure.
