Tottenham joined Newcastle this week in becoming the second club to reduce the wages of non-playing staff and place them on furlough.
It is a big decision which may help the club in terms of its finances, but it raises ethical questions about the treatment of staff when players continue to rake in thousands every week.
One could also question the day-to-day organisation of the club and whether it is being run in a sustainable fashion – given the revenue from TV money and gate receipts it is a little surprising that Spurs have made such a move.
Do you think Kane will leave in the summer?
Yes
No
Many fans are outraged by the decision making of the club’s hierarchy – former manager Harry Redknapp included – who stated that it is the players who should receive a reduction in wages, not the staff.
It is obviously a difficult dilemma to be in but we haven’t come out of it looking good, and instead Levy seems to have done greater damage to his own reputation and that of the club.
Disgraceful.

Not just ridiculously bad PR for Spurs but completely the wrong action. If the overpaid underperforming players took even a 10% cut from their over inflated salaries the “ordinary” workers could keep their jobs. To make them the responsibility of the government is disgusting.

I’m a season ticket holder and ashamed that my money isn’t going to the right people. Levy is so out of touch with the fan base it’s a shame.
This is another thing rival supporters have used to ridicule us and non football fans, it’s disgusting and I’m ashamed of the board

Disgrace. Become more disengaged with the club as the week ya go by. This alone shows they have no interest in anything but £. They’ll never get close to where we were a few years back with these in charge.

Not long after the club having the highest revenues of any London club. No excuse for this. https://t.co/NiHnkOKca3

@SpursOfficial as a fan I’m disgusted by your treatment of your staff. It tells me a lot about the lack of leadership at the top. https://t.co/mSk2e9lBNL
