“Enforce They Play At Wembley For The Rest Of The Season” – Expected Classy Response After Easy Defeat

|

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock is a man who keeps on giving, but he came up with a novel way of ‘adjusting the headlines’ this week after Tottenham Hotspur had taken an incredibly easy victory over his side.

Doing what I assume was his best to avoid talking about the 3-0 loss, their performance, any failings in his own management style as we blew them completely away inside of the opening 30 minutes, Warnock focused on our issues with White Hart Lane and the continued, longer than originally expected, use of Wembley Stadium.

The BBC quote the comic as saying.

“The league should enforce they play at Wembley for the rest of the season. There shouldn’t be any chance of an advantage for our opponents. It’s not our fault – we should have been playing at the new stadium ourselves. I think they should step in now and rather than seven or six weeks, they should make it until the end of the season now and enforce it now.”

It’s an interesting tactic and in some ways, it’s to be admired, but he’s already lost at Wembley so he can’t claim that defeat was down to home advantage and he’s just lost on his own soil, so quite what Wembley has to do with their own stadium it completely beyond me.

At least it wasn’t the fault of the referee this time or sightseeing aliens.
