Dybala Talks Continue But Spurs’ Other Transfer Dream Is Over

|

With the mass of speculation seeing the summer transfer rumour mill link Tottenham Hotspur with massive moves for Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, earlier today it seems the rug was pulled on a deal for the former Liverpool star.

Reports Suggest Spurs Are In Pole Position In Chase For Former Liverpool Star On Strange Loan Deal

Although it was believed that Barcelona would’ve preferred a straight permanent deal for the 27-year-old, their £80million fee is too high for most to pay given Coutinho has slowly fallen out of favour at the club, so although a little strange and details were thin on the ground, a loan presumably with a view to a structured permanent deal appeared to be the favoured way forward.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon Sky Sports were one of many to claim that even though manager Mauricio Pochettino had phoned his former Espanyol player to convince him to make the move, Coutinho had rejected our advances so the deal is dead in the water.

They also offered an update on the Dybala speculation given the claims of a £64.4million agreement between ourselves and the Serie A Champions.

Whilst progress has apparently been made on his personal terms, we are yet to reach an agreement when it comes to his image rights from Image Star.
