Duo To Miss Out On Liverpool – This Will Be The Spurs Lineup Won’t It

|

Tottenham Hotspur host Liverpool for the early Premier League kick-off this Saturday at Wembley Stadium and manager Mauricio Pochettino has delivered two blows ahead of the game with confirmation that both goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and midfielder Dele Alli had now been ruled out of the game.

It was hoped, if not completely expected, that both – Alli in particular – would be in contention for the game, but Lloris was a bit more hit and miss. Pochettino confirmed that Alli should be back after this weekend, although Lloris may still be a couple of weeks away.

Juan Foyth has returned to the training pitch, and Moussa Sissoko is expected back in training next week.

With the injury blows the team does largely pick itself in my mind.

Michel Vorm will be between the sticks as Poch won’t throw Paulo Gazzaniga into this one having not given him a shot against Watford and although we should welcome Son Heung-min back to contention, I can only imagine he’ll be on the bench. We’ll go man for man in defence with an expected top three from Liverpool and I’d guess Eric Dier comes in for Alli to try and add more strength in the middle of the park – knowing he can drop back a touch deeper if needed.

Vorm,
Davies, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Trippier,
Eriksen, Dier, Dembele,
Moura, Kane.

Or I could be completely wrong – it wouldn’t be the first time.
