“Dream For The Moon” – Pochettino Channels His Inner Buzz Lightyear Ahead Of Ajax Clash

|

So tonight is the night – Tottenham Hotspur face impressive Dutch side Ajax at the new White Hart Lane Stadium with us both looking to actually field a starting XI given our current injury list and take a significant advantage ahead of the second leg of the Semi-Final affair.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino was expectedly in good spirits as he met with the media yesterday and despite the additional blow that was confirmation of midfielder Harry Winks’ surgery for a groin issue, meaning he now misses the remainder of the season, Poch channelled his inner Disney to describe our road towards the final and how we should approach the two legged affair.

Quoted by the BBC discussing the fact we have made our own history by reaching this stage since the European Cup was rebranded all those years back, Poch got his Buzz Lightyear on.

“You need to set your dreams to infinity and beyond. When you achieve things it’s because you dream them. To be in the Champions League semi-final with Tottenham was a dream five years ago – but we’re living the dream. You know we must always dream for the moon if you want to get something in the sky.”

I don’t wish to overly bring the tone of the conversation down, but come the fulltime whistle let’s all hope we’re celebrating with Woody’s.
