On Monday afternoon Tottenham Hotspur discovered that Borussia Dortmund would be our opponents in the next round of the Champions League.
A number of fans were perfectly happy with this development, but it’s very fair to say a number of others, erm, not so much.
For those who welcomed the tie, they were, of course, drawing on inspiration from last season where we took victory over the German Bundesliga side both home and away. Those not too impressed with the tie would lean more on Dortmund’s current form and the fact they top the German division by nine points at this moment in time.
It is also a game that Son Heung-Min enjoys taking part in and that should serve in our favour as well for those who are a little more superstitious.
🇩🇪 So it's @BVB for us in this year's @ChampionsLeague last 16.

It’ll undoubtedly be a tough game for manager Mauricio Pochettino’s boys in the New Year but you don’t expect easy matches at the last 16 stage do you.
Focus on ourselves, focus on what we can do, and what will be, will be.
Done it once. Can do it again #COYS

Son’s scored about 628 goals against them so just kick the ball to him and we’re through

Worst possible outcome imo
