Does Mauricio Pochettino’s signing has uncertain future at Tottenham?

|

Victor Wanyama recently returned from injury against Crystal Palace over the weekend, playing a full 90 minutes at Selhurst Park as Tottenham picked up all three points. The 27-year-old made only his fourth Premier League appearance of the season and his first start.

Wanyama was linked with a Tottenham exit during the tail-end of last season and has been rumoured to be on his way out of the club next summer, with rumours suggesting Mauricio Pochettino wants to part company with the Kenyan. So, is his Tottenham future in doubt?

The midfielder has made 78 appearances in all competitions for Spurs since his move from Southampton, scoring and creating seven goals. Wanyama was outstanding in his first season at White Hart Lane but struggled for consistency the following campaign.

Wanyama made only 18 league appearances last season and struggled with injuries. His wavering form led to rumours about his future and nothing has really changed this campaign.

Tottenham are already bracing themselves with the potential summer departure of Mousa Dembele, so losing Wanyama on top of that would be a big blow. Pochettino would still have Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli, but another new face wouldn’t go amiss next summer.
