After some disappointment following the narrow Premier League defeat to Manchester City in our last match, given the Champions League distraction, most fans would’ve accepted defeat given the Semi-Final achievement, but three points this evening against Brighton and Hove Albion would make the top of the table look more comfortable in terms of the top four.
Despite our injury situation at the moment, results over the weekend did go in our favour and victory would open up a small advantage over the chasing pack once again.
The game itself was predictable in many ways, we utterly dominated but Brighton sat back and restricted us to range and by the hour mark, despite having had 17 attempts overall, we’d only got two on target.
In the 88th minute that didn’t matter though as Christian Eriksen found the back of the net to return a 1-0 win and all three points and our buffer zone in the top four is back in play.
