Tottenham Hotspurs long chase for Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso finally paid off in the summer transfer window as he arrived from Real Betis on a loan to buy deal, and the 23-year-old had slowly begun impressing fans in his three substitute appearances so far.
With the September international break getting in the way of proper football, unfortunately for us, it’s been confirmed that he picked up a hip injury whilst away with his country, and he has now returned to us for treatment and rehabilitation.

He picked up the problem in their game against Chile and the expectation is that he’ll now be unavailable for selection for around the next six weeks, with him pencilled in to return to training towards the end of October.
Another international break, and yet more injuries to further complicate things for manager Mauricio Pochettino. Reaction to the confirmation yesterday on social media was entirely predictable.

Honestly, if you know anything about Spurs, he’ll come back weaker than he was the moment he got injured. Our physios are horrendous.

Honestly though. I know this was on international duty but something seriously has to be wrong with how we care for the well-being of our players. Don’t tell me that it’s a coincidence that everyone appears to be injury prone because that just cannot be the answer.

Has to be from the training regime at the club. Always tough to get them to "Pochettino fit"
