Mauricio Pochettino believes the club is a victim of its own success following top-four finishes in recent seasons.
The lack of a trophy under the Argentinian has frustrated some, but Poch believes we are ahead of schedule:
“We are the victims of our own success because we are ahead in our project. It’s not easy to accept being close [to a trophy] and being disappointed. The easy thing is give up and say we need to change everything. No. We need to keep going. You have to keep dreaming”
It’s clear that the manager sees this as a long-term project which will take many years to complete. Fans on Twitter echoed the boss’s sentiments for the most part:

“If you don’t win anything, you have had a bad season.” – I’ll leave it right here. Our demands has always been high. Personally I don’t think you can blame the fans of being demanding and always not satisfied. The demands has been set by the club it self. #sirbill

‘SUCCESS’ remind me what that means as I thought you could only judge success on being winners!

It's well known we have a certain wage structure which is a maximum of 100k a week. Ok you got bonuses but an e.g. Hernandez at West ham gets 140k and your mad if he doesn't get bonuses too. 100k is a lot to us but when players like rose see walker on 150k a week he's guna go

I think Poch believes the “project” is only getting started. #COYS #THFC

Verdict:
Comparing where we were under AVB and Sherwood, and where we are now is like night and day. Poch has done a fantastic job over the last four years with the second best win percentage in the club’s history.
It’s understandable to feel a bit deflated after another season of near misses, but with so many bright, young talented players in the squad with a great coach to guide them, the sky is really the limit. Let’s hope we can push on next season at the new stadium.
