“Could Think Of Worse Things” “I’d Take That” – Some Surprising Support From These Spurs Fans To Latest Speculation

Having covered this week’s update to the rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, but now in exchange for Colombian international James Rodriguez, taking a closer look at the reaction on social media has left me somewhat surprised.

I’ll stick the link in here to save overly repeating the bulk of the report that emanated from Spain.

Colombian Flop Is Not Spurs’ Answer To Reported Eriksen Chase

The 27-year-old Colombian made a loan move out to Bayern Munich back in the summer of 2017 owing to him falling down the pecking order at Real Madrid, and it seems injuries hit his spell at the club but there were also plenty of reports at his unhappiness when it came to starting slots in the team, so I don’t see how he’d figure given manager Mauricio Pochettino’s penchant for rotation, unless you are Harry Kane.

On face value, his stats are good in terms of a goalscoring return. 59 La Liga starts and 18 substitutes showings have returned 28 goals, whilst his time at Munich have seen 24 Bundesliga starts with eight substitute showings, for a return of 10 goals.

I just still don’t see how he’d fit given the ego he would naturally come with, and no doubt his wage demands even if he was a makeweight for Christian Eriksen or we secured him as a loan himself outwith of the Dane.

Whilst plenty of fans doubted the wage aspects or weren’t interested, the calls for us to get a deal done on Twitter were somewhat surprising to me.
