Contradictory Reports Continue On Long Term Spurs Transfer Target – Figures Are Still All Over The Place

|

With the summer transfer window coming to a close at Tottenham Hotspur this week, we’ve seen a strong return to Bruno Fernandes speculation.

Report Claims Player Wants Out & Seems To Prefer Spurs As A Destination

The 24-year-old Portuguese international has long featured on the rumour mill this summer and it’s always appeared that he was one of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s top targets, but as of yet – despite the reports of offers going in for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder – no agreement has been struck.

With the window soon to slam shut outlet O Jogo (via Football London) have stated that a deal now seems very unlikely as chairman Daniel Levy will not meet their asking price. Our latest offer, according to them, was 45million Euros plus 15million Euros in bonuses, but Sporting continue to hold out for a straight 70million Euros.

It must be said though, as is typical for the rumour mill, Portuguese journalist Goncalo Lopes is being credited with saying that our last offer was 50million Euros with 10million Euros in bonuses.

So I very much doubt we’ve gone back in with a lower offer. It is now being claimed though that personal terms have been agreed, so the fee is the final sticking point.

At this time of the year, believe what you will!
