Tottenham drew 1-1 with Everton on Sunday and Serge Aurier was one of many players to be criticised by supporters on social media. The 26-year-old was kept busy all afternoon and did a lot of defending, but fans weren’t pleased with his overall performance.
Serge Aurier was completely anonymous today. Which makes it his best performance yet in a Spurs shirt.#thfc #coys

I can not abide @Serge_aurier one of the worst representations of the modern footballer and one of the worst signings we have ever made. He makes my skin crawl #THFC

He's been 💩since February. It's awful to see his star tarnish like this. Poch still starting him and Aurier when there are other options available is probably the most concerning part of all. #COYS #THFC https://t.co/qTWvGPEMBp

Things ended sourly for Aurier too. A challenge from the Ivorian international & Heung-min Son saw Andre Gomes break his ankle, leading to Mauricio Pochettino substituting him as he was so distraught. Son was sent off for the tackle.
Against Everton, Aurier played for 87 minutes, made 70 touches, won two aerial duels, created one chance, made three clearances, completed 75.6% of his 41 passes, made two interceptions, whipped in two crosses, made five tackles and had one successful dribble.
Based on statistics, WhoScored had the 26-year-old as Spurs’ best player on the day. Fans said otherwise, however, and are desperate for Pochettino to drop him for good. Aurier has made eight appearances in all competitions this season, but his form has been inconsistent.
Should Mauricio Pochettino drop Serge Aurier?
Yes
No
And with Kyle Walker-Peters & Juan Foyth breathing down his neck, Aurier can’t afford any more poor showings. Time will tell if he keeps his place.
