Clinical Spurs Take The Points From A Dogged United- Match Stats

Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash saw Tottenham Hotspur travel up to Bramall Lane to face off against struggling Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder’s side may have lost their momentum this season, but even with a depleted side, we knew we would be in for a battle and whilst few would say it was a Spurs classic, Jose Mourinho’s side dug in and with our finishing with us today, we battled to a 3-1 victory.

Serge Aurier opened the scoring five minutes in, and five minutes before the break Harry Kane got his customary goal to give us a 2-0 lead. David McGoldrick got a goal back for the hosts just ahead of the hour mark, but a couple of minutes later Tanguy Ndombele restored the two goal cushion as he made it 3-1.

Ndombele’s effort was the pick of the bunch really as he unexpectedly lobbed Aaron Ramsdale and it was a goal worthy of winning a match.

After recent poor performances and results, this should give the team a bit of a boost of confidence, albeit coming against the lowest placed team in the league, but they have been the sides we have more struggled against this year.

On to the next one, and hopefully a run of victories again.
