‘Car-crash waiting to happen’ – These Tottenham fans tore into ‘massive liability’ after international display

Serge Aurier’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has been questioned over the past few months and it seems many of our fans would not be too disappointed to see him leave after witnessing his performance for the Ivory Coast over the weekend.

According to a report by The Sun back in March, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on offloading the former Paris Saint-Germain man this summer as he looks to reshape his squad.

The defender has been in and out of the team ever since his arrival back in 2017 and, despite starting the last campaign as an apparent first choice for the Argentine, injury robbed him off any chance of making a return to the line-up on a more consistent basis.

The 26-year-old gave away the penalty in the first half that decided their fate and saw them start their preparations for the tournament in the worst possible fashion.

That display hardly escaped the attention of some Tottenham fans on social media and not many of them had too many kind words to say about his display.

Some felt that Aurier had continued to show that he was a ‘massive liability’, whilst another felt he was a ‘car-crash waiting to happen’. Here are some of their reactions…
