Can Tottenham Expect Departures Before The End Of August – This Man Promises To Help

|

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reaffirmed that he doesn’t want any unhappy players at the club, so whilst the transfer window remains open he will actively help to try and push moves through for those players who want them.

Meeting with the media ahead of this Saturday’s clash with Fulham at Wembley Stadium, Pochettino covered a number of topics with the questions flowing.

One topic, in particular, was potential transfers with speculation continuing to link the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele (and others) with a departure this month. When asked what he planned to do with any players who were unhappy at the club, he explained that he was very open to selling them if the right deals could be done that suited all parties.

“I told them I am open to try to find a solution. I don’t want anyone upset, not happen. It’s so clear the rules, it’s so clear my message, I promise I will fix it if someone is not happy to be here for the next five months until the transfer window opens again.”

Although the permanent transfer window is shut in the UK, European windows remain open bar Italy I believe, so there is no bar on players leaving permanently if they have interest abroad but obviously, with Pochettino unable to strengthen now, any deal has to be 100% right on a number of levels before they will be sanctioned.

Vincent Janssen is guaranteed to leave I think, but unless we’re offered silly money I’m really not sure we’d thin the playing staff out until January rolls around and we can bring people in. Most of the speculation flying around seems to be just that and there’s little real substance behind it.

Maybe we’ll deal on one player on top of Janssen, but I can’t really see more than that at this stage.
