“Came Out Of Nowhere” “Future Of Spurs” – Former Player Joins Fans In Lauding Recent Development

|

With recent news, that during the current Premier League suspension, Tottenham Hotspur have redoubled their efforts to secure highly impressive young talent Japhet Tanganga to a new deal, former Scottish international Alan Hutton has lauded our recent efforts – and plenty of fans are in agreement with him.

With the 20-year-old making huge strides this campaign (eleven appearances across all competitions) and impressing plenty with his mature displays, there are those who feel he could be the long term successor to Jan Vertonghen given continuing doubts about his future, and speaking to Football Insider recently, Hutton admitted that he’d been personally very impressed with the versatile young lad and he felt Spurs using the downtime to secure this deal was a ‘great decision’ on our end.

Is Tanganga Vertonghen's Natural Replacement Next Season?

Yes

Not Yet, No

“Moving forward, he’s so young, I totally agree with why Tottenham are trying to tie him down to a new deal. There will be lots of clubs sniffing about, foreign and local. It’s a great decision to tie him down. Let’s face it, he came out of nowhere, I don’t think a lot of people knew about him. It was the Liverpool game, he got thrown in at the deep end and wow, did he handle it – I thought he was magnificent that game. Obviously it’s about keeping your standards high. Everybody now thinks what a player, that’s the standards.”

There aren’t many who disagree with Hutton’s appraisal here, although Tanganga will naturally have ups and downs as he finds consistency (and make plenty of errors) – that’s usually the last thing to come in player development – it certainly excited the fans as they took to social media to react to the development.
