Tottenham drew 1-1 with Everton on Sunday and Dele Alli was one player who came away with credit from supporters. The 23-year-old has been criticised for inconsistent performances in 2019, but he impressed against Everton and got on the scoresheet for his troubles.
Alli opened the scoring for Spurs in the 63rd minute, firing a low effort past Jordan Pickford after capitalising on a loose pass from Alex Iwobi. He drove at the Everton defence, beat one defender and made no mistake from the edge of the box.
For me, Dele Alli was the best player on the pitch yesterday. #COYS #THFC

Now that was @dele_official of old, good to him creating those sort of chances for himself and having the confidence to give it a go.

The only positive thing about the club at the moment! DELE!

Dele seems to have got his swagger back.

All those spurs fans who've been dissing Dele Alli for weeks. He's the one whose saved you points and further embarrassment in TWO matches now #THFC

Seemed quicker on the burst. Playing more centrally and forward means he gets into these goal scoring situations. Perfectly timed run. Good touch & dribbling. Confident finish.
Dele could be back which is just about the only positive for Spurs this… year #COYS #THFC https://t.co/HY9bCh1uxl

Against Everton, Alli played a full 90 minutes, made 53 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 70.7% of his 41 passes, had one shot which he scored from, made two clearances, created one chance and made one successful dribble. Unfortunately, Spurs couldn’t hold onto their lead and ended up with a point at Goodison Park.
Should Dele Alli start in Tottenham's next game?
Yes
No
As for Alli, the 23-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals. He’d only featured once in the Premier League before mid-October but has been a regular in recent weeks. Alli has started Tottenham’s last three games, scoring twice.
