‘Best news I’ve heard all day’ – Lots of Tottenham fans were gushing over ‘quality’ news

Hugo Lloris appeared to give Tottenham Hotspur fans some great news on Monday regarding his future at the club.

Speaking to French media outlet Nice-Matin, the World Cup winner suggested that he had no immediate plans to leave the club and is hopeful the club will be successful moving forward.

He said: “To live Definitely! A return to the club – it’s hard to promise things. I’m still a fan, but I’ve career plans and I’m under contract at Spurs, where I hope we’ll be successful. Maybe the question will come later, but not today.”

The 32-year-old has come under fire for some of his performances over the last couple of seasons, having made a number of high-profile mistakes and costly errors, leading to speculation that he could be replaced in the summer – links with Thomas Strakosha have been rather prevalent in sections of the Italian media recently.

However, it must also be added that he has been a stalwart for us ever since joining from Olympique de Lyonnais back in 2012 and has always been able to prove his critics wrong with his displays in between the sticks more often than not – he did save three consecutive penalties last season.

Lloris is hardly finished and still has an important role in helping us to get better and be successful in the future and his comments have only gone onto please those that feel the same.

A number of Tottenham supporters took to Twitter to share their delight at the ‘keeper’s remarks, with many of them stating that it was great news to see him commit his future to the club, whilst others called for him to end his career with them. Here are some of their reactions…
