Dimitar Berbatov was named in the PFA Premiership XI of the season this week.

Despite the title going down to the wire between Manchester United and Chelsea. 8 players in the side were Manchester United players, leaving just 3 places for Chelsea’s Drogba, Liverpool’s Gerrard and of course Spurs Berbatov.

He told the official site: “It is a big honour, I was very pleased and very happy when I found out about it, especially as it comes from my fellow players.

“I wouldn`t have done it without the help of my team-mates and hopefully in the future I will continue to play like this.”

He added: ‘To tell you the truth, I was surprised to be in there, but very happy and very honoured.”

“From the first day everyone was really nice to me, not only the guys in the team, but all the people who work around the team too. It really helped me to settle and I am really thankful for that.

“The way to show that I`m really thankful is to score goals and to play the way I can.”

and of course sign a new contract to stay at the club for a few more seasons? 😉
