Spurs 4th choice keeper, Ben Alnwick has joined Championship side Leeds United on a four week loan deal and goes straight into the squad against Middlesbrough this weekend.

23 year old Alnwick who isn`t in the 25 man Spurs squad, could play tomorrow as first choice, Kasper Schmeichel is a major doubt, while his back up Shane Higgs is out with a hamstring injury, so it looks like being a straight choice between another loanee Jason Brown or Alnwick.

Things don`t look too promising for a career at Spurs for Alnwick following the arrival of Stipe Pletikosa, leaving the former England U-21 keeper totally in the cold at the club, and this move is probably as much about giving him an opportunity to prove his worth to any interested clubs with a January move in mind that actually doing Leeds a favour, so let`s hope all goes well and the player can get a fresh start and Spurs perhaps a few quid back on the 900 grand he cost in January 2007…
