Bad news for Tottenham as ‘long-time admirers’ enter the race for 26-year-old’s signature

|

We reported on Saturday afternoon that Tottenham have a stiff task to keep Christian Eriksen due to the interest from Real Madrid, but it appears the Danish international has another suitor – Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the Express, the Ligue 1 giants are ‘long-time admirers’ of Eriksen, although the piece also states they could be hit with a transfer ban after falling foul of Financial Fair Play Regulations.

Eriksen could certainly improve the PSG side, with the 26-year-old having scored and created 130 goals in 239 games for Tottenham since his 2013-move from Ajax, but the Parisians aren’t short of attacking options.

Thomas Tuchel has the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler, so it’s hard to see the French champions spending money on another forward. Tottenham ‘s asking price of Eriksen would be astronomical too.

Nevertheless, Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy will be happy with the rumours, as more big clubs keep being linked with Eriksen which may lead him to think that he has plenty of options should he leave Tottenham.

It’s worth noting that nothing has come from the alleged interest in Eriksen, but it could be enough to stop him committing his future past 2020.
