With a number of players taking their moment to shine at the London Stadium last Saturday as Tottenham Hotspur took all three points and the bragging rights from West Ham United, whilst goalkeeper Hugo Lloris didn’t have an awful lot to do, the little he did do was pretty spectacular.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side did have more chances overall in the game, as well as more on target than we managed, but Erik Lamela made no mistake with his effort on the stroke of halftime to secure the victory, and when the hosts did attack Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez were largely up to task on dealing with whatever was thrown at them.
On the odd occasions where West Ham got as far as Frenchman Lloris, they met their match and he took plenty of praise and headlines for a couple of stops late on in particular.
We made hard work of that but well fought win. Defence and Lloris were excellent. Winks impressed. Sissoko superb. #COYS

Lloris today has been tremendous with his shot stopping. These have always saved us far more points than his noticeable errors with decision making have cost us #thfc #coys

Lloris has had a poor return from injury but he won us that game today.

Sissoko, Lloris and Lamela were fantastic today

Just want to remind everyone that some spurs fans wanted to drop or even sell Hugo Lloris.

Thank god for Lloris! Dxx

With the level of criticism thrown at him for on-pitch stumbles as well as off-pitch stumbles in recent times, it’s good to see him back to his best and earning plaudits once again.
