Kieran Tripper was heavily criticised by some fans on social media after a lacklustre showing in Tottenham’s 3-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The right-back saw a lot of the ball in Saturday’s meeting at Wembley but didn’t do much with it. He failed to create a chance, find a teammate with any one of his four crosses and only completed 73% of his passes against Wolves.
Trippier and Lloris, simple not good enough.
Overall, terrible performance. #COYS

Trippier’s ‘no 1’ status must be under threat. Most mistakes have this season have come from him #THFC

Have people now realised that Trippier is over rated. Kyle Walker Peters is the real deal

Kieron Trippier needs to get out of our club ASAP. He’s a truly awful right back

Trippier costing us again. Awful player! #COYS

People really expected us to challenge for the title with Trippier and Davies as fullbacks, this ain’t the Championship. Was never gonna end well.

Sanchez = not good enough
Trippier = rubbish
Davies = rubbishWe cannot compete when these players are in the back 4. Levy must spend some money. It’s as simple as that

Clearly obvious that neither Kieran Trippier or Ben Davies are good enough to be first-choice full-backs for Tottenham Hotspur.
Both Danny Rose & Serge Aurier have been suffering with injuries which have stopped us seeing a potential real great partnership together.#THFC #COYS

Trippier has made 15 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season, scoring and creating four goals. The 28-year-old has been first-choice at right-back under Mauricio Pochettino but may find his place under threat by Kyle Walker-Peters’ recent emergence. Serge Aurier may also stand a chance of dethroning Trippier when he’s fully fit again.
The England international has made just one assist in his last nine appearances, creating only four chances in his last five games. He’s made just one successful dribble since early October and has found a teammate with a cross just once in his last two outings. Tottenham’s defeat to Wolves was damaging as it left them nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool after 20 games.
Spurs will be looking to bounce back away to Cardiff City on New Year’s Day, but will Trippier remain in the starting lineup?
