Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans were encouraged and impressed by youngster Japhet Tanganga’s displays during our pre-season campaign, and there are those who feel that despite a solid start to the 2019/20 Premier League campaign by Kyle Walker-Peters, that as time goes by we’ll see more of the 20-year-old, even if he is more of a centre-half by trade.
With his stock growing quickly this summer, outlet Tuttomercatoweb published a story last week it seems, suggesting that they understood we were now looking to tie the youngster down to a longer contract in recognition of his improvement.
The original report seems to have been better picked up this week and with the suggestion that a new contract is being discussed, plenty of fans were delighted with that news on social media.
He is going to be huge. I hope as huge as Ledley…..

Needs to be given game time in the cups, but very impressive in pre-season and looks to be a real talent.

Saw this with Caulker and CCV. Let's hope he gets his opportunity

With how he impressed people, it certainly makes sense to tie him down for longer and whether or not he fills in on the right side as he gains experience is open to debate, but there will be those hoping to see a lot of him during the domestic Cup campaign this year – and dare I say Troy Parrott as well.
