Any Advance on Two From Eight?

In two weeks the new Premiership season starts.Harry will then get his chance to prove to us all just how poor two points from eight games really was last time.

As all true Spurs fans know we kick off with a toughie against the Reds from Merseyside. At least it is at home, but knowing how slow we are to get in the groove early doors I wouldn’t be totally shocked if we ended the match with the same points tally as when we started the game.

We then face our old Asia Cup buddies Hull and the Spammers in the next two games – both away.I expect us to dispatch Hull with something like the same aplomb again, but am pretty sure the Hammers will have got their act together a little more by then, so would be grateful to get a share of the points in that one.

Next up are newly promoted Birmingham on our home turf.I am sure we would all be extremely disappointed if we did not grab all three points there. The elation will soon die down though as we then face two stiff tests in Man Utd at home and Chelsea away.We may consider ourselves lucky if we come away with more than one point out of the six available in those two fixtures.I fancy the draw will be against Utd at the Lane.

Finally, we then meet true northern grit in newly promoted Burnley at our place and Bolton at the Reebok.I predict a tough battle but three more points against Owen Coyle’s men, yet expect us to come unstuck which is par for the course when we travel up the M6 to pit our wits and brawn against Gary Megson’s eleven.

I make that three wins, three losses, and two draws – a grand total of eleven points.Do you see us faring any better? We really need to and hit the ground running if we harbour any real aspirations about the return of European football.
