Another Spurs Midfielder Bites The Dust With Injury – Season Over

|

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed another massive injury blow late last night as we got an update on the fitness of midfielder Harry Winks.

The 23-year-old homegrown Academy product has made 28 starting appearances for manager Mauricio Pochettino so far this season and he’s had an additional eleven showings from the substitutes bench as he continues his development and he’s won plenty of praise for his efforts across those games already this year.

He was a doubt for Tuesday evening’s Champions League semi-final encounter with Ajax though, as we haven’t seen him since the quarter-final leg back in early April against Manchester City as he picked up a groin problem in the game. Having missed all five matches since, it was hoped he’d ease our current injury situation soon enough and return, but last night the club confirmed that he had now undergone groin surgery to correct the problem and is, therefore, out for the rest of the campaign.

The hits keep on coming this year.
