Tottenham are interested in signing Ajax’s Andre Onana, according to Sport Witness via Spanish publication Sport.
Hugo Lloris may be the current captain but he has struggled for fitness and form a little this season, as has Paulo Gazzaniga when he was given the responsibility of deputising for the Frenchman.
The fact we have conceded 41 goals in 26 games under Jose Mourinho suggests it is an area of weakness, and one which could be improved upon with the addition of Onana.
Would Andre Onana be a good replacement for Hugo Lloris?
Yes
No
At 24 he is young and constantly improving, though he has already displayed considerable talent in helping Ajax to the league title as well as making the Champions League semi-final last term.
There is a concern over how much he could cost, however, as Transfermarkt rate the Cameroon international at £32.4m, which means it would take a considerable chunk out of our budget in order to bring him in.
The fanbase seems to be split, possibly because of that, with some of their reactions to the news being shown below.

Presumably to address the horrific outlier of actually making it through a cup semi final.
