An Unlikely Signing For Spurs Or Perhaps Not

|

In order to mount a sustainable challenge for the Premier League title, it is essential to have a strong squad with strength in depth.

Last night, as I struggled to sleep, guilty conscience syndrome perhaps, I was mulling over something that had been irking me for several days.

Relieved at the news that Harry Kane had put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal, I started to mull over what would happen if Harry were to pick up a long-term injury, a morbid thought I know.

This morning, just perusing the latest transfer speculation, something caught my eye.

It appears that Newcastle United, according to Sky Sports, want a transfer fee of just £20 million for their Serbian striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Those who followed the Championship last season will know that Mitrovic had an impressive loan spell at Fulham, helping to propel the West London club back into the Premier League.

His last 22 appearances, in all competitions, have seen the Serbian score 17 goals, pretty impressive I think you’ll agree.

Which got me thinking!

With such an impressive record, would Mitrovic be a sound investment for Tottenham Hotspur, operating as back-up to Harry Kane?

With a plethora of competitions to navigate next season, Tottenham could do with another option up front.

But, whilst my idea might not get the agreement from all of you, stumbling through the social network sites, the following, as if by magic appeared:

So, whats the verdict good folk of Vital Spurs?

Is it an idea that you concur with or have I lost my marbles?
