Agent Change Increases Talk Of £26m Rated Playmaker’s Move To Spurs

|

Andre Gomes has changed his agent, increasing speculation that a move to London is on the cards, according to Calciomercato.com.

Up until now, the Portuguese midfielder has been managed by super agent Jorge Mendes but the Italian website believe he has switched to Paul Martin.

The Englishman represents John Stones and Ross Barkley, and the Barca star’s decision to rely on a man with greater connections in the Premier League could suggest a switch to the UK is in the works.

Mendes has good connections with both AC Milan and Juventus, and would have been a perfect mediator if Gomes made the switch to Italy. The Portuguese agent is believed to be still hopeful of retaining his client, although it seems unlikely if Martin has already been recruited.

We reportedly tried to sign the Barcelona playmaker back in the summer, along with West Ham, but a move did not materialise.

It is said Barca are willing to consider offers for the 24-year-old with Calciomercato suggesting a €25m (£22m) to €30m (£26m) would be considered as acceptable by the Catalan club.
