After Plenty Of Criticism, 28 y/o Thanked As He Departs Spurs – “Nothing But The Very Best Of Luck”

|

Following the recent uptick in speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur and England right back Kieran Trippier with a move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid, earlier this evening the club confirmed that an agreement had been reached and the deal had now gone through.

It’s no secret that the 28-year-old struggled for form in the 2018/19 campaign and although different fans had different thoughts on why he was struggling, based on his own standards over the years since his arrival from Burnley back in 2015, it was obvious for everyone, even if he did become and easy go-to in poorer performances.

Atletico Madrid were a late entry to the rumour mill, as he’d been long linked with Italian side Napoli with some suggesting that his wife had travelled over to hunt for schools.

In any event, it brings this piece of speculation to a close and he departs with 114 appearances to his name, with two goals returned.

Now the speculation will pivot to his replacement. Sky Sports are saying the fee is £21.7million.

There were plenty more well wishes on social media, but this gives an accurate impression as we gave him the right send off.
