With Sunday afternoon’s Under 18 test event at the new White Hart Lane Stadium pitting Tottenham Hotspur’s next generation against Southampton, it was always going to be a day for celebration – irrespective of what happened when it came to the result.

The starting lineup for the tie read:
Oluwayemi, Okedina, Cirkin, Skipp, Walcott, Lyons-Foster, Markanday, White, Clarke, A. Shashoua, Bennett.
Subs:
Kurylowicz, Statham, Cooper, Thorpe, Pochettino.
Some names are obviously more familiar than others, but the young lads on show certainly appeared to appreciate the experience that was in front of them and eleven minutes into the game, J’Neil Bennett wrote himself into the history books to become our first goalscorer back at the new ground.
Quite a tasty opener as well and befitting the situation.
The first ever goal at our new home.

Harvey White doubled our advantage from the penalty spot 21 minutes in to give us a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Cool as you like. ????

Southampton pulled one back just after the hour mark in the tie but having won the earlier penalty, Dilan Markanday restored the two goal buffer with 13 minutes remaining in the game.
Right place. Right time.

3-1 at fulltime and a first win. Not a bad start.
