Wilfried Zaha has once again been linked with a move to North London this week.

Whether making a move for the speedy forward is a good idea, is another matter entirely. The arrival of Lucas Moura from PSG would indicate that Poch has already satisfied his desire for a pacey wide man. The Brazilian`s full debut against Rochdale was impressive, and his composure to score when one on one with Dale`s keeper showed a lot of promise.

If he can deliver consistently in the final third, along with our other attacking players, then it could be argued that there is no need for us to recruit the Crystal Palace star in the summer.

Playing under Roy Hodgson, the winger has actually been employed more as a central striker this campaign, with four goals and two assists to his name from 20 appearances. Yet it is apparent that he is not playing to the level he was last season.

A knee injury curtailed his start to the campaign, and he is again sidelined with a knee problem which will keep him out until March. Last year however he was in top form with his assists reaching double figures for the first time.
His talent is undoubted by there are numerous factors in deciding whether we should snap him up in the summer.

Firstly, his failed move to Manchester United has led many to believe he doesn`t have the mentality to play for a big club. It`s difficult to put this criticism to rest unless he is given another chance to perform at the highest level. He is now 25 and may have matured as a person. Zaha has certainly improved as a player – considering his form in the last two seasons.

Secondly, would he be worth the money? The Mirror report that he could cost in “excess of £50m.” From a purely financial point of view, the move doesn`t make that much sense. We have already signed a Brazilian for half the price, with a better goalscoring record, and is the same age.

On top of that, you should consider the player`s wages (north of £100k a week), and whether he would merit a regular starting place in our team. He would no doubt be a valuable player to have in the squad, but is he worth it?

Our poll asks, Despite Moura should Tottenham still consider move for Zaha?
