A Night Of First’s For Extremely Talented Spurs Youngster

|

On Friday, the Republic of Ireland named their squad for their upcoming games against Switzerland and Bulgaria, and not entirely unexpected, manager Mick McCarthy has handed Tottenham Hotspur talent Troy Parrott his maiden senior call up.

17-year-old Parrott is yet to feature for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, but we all know he’s been in and around the first team group for quite a while now so it really is only a matter of time, especially after his impressive efforts in pre-season.

Having caught the eye in our youth ranks and quickly worked his way through the Republic’s youth setup, whether he features or is simply along for the experience (presuming he makes the final cut), remains to be seen, but it’ll certainly be another good boost for the lad.

With Tottenham’s Under 23 side in action last night against Manchester City, he certainly seemed to celebrate his call up in the right way.

We took a 3-1 victory in our youngsters’ first game at our new White Hart Lane stadium, as Paris Maghoma joined Parrott on the scoresheet, before Parrott buried a second half penalty to complete his brace. That first effort is a hell of a way to open his WHL account.
