Define glory? He will steady the ship and have us in the top half of the table, but the longer we stand still the greater the chance we get overtaken
Where do we need to progress as a team and club?
We need better balance especially down the flanks. We need to buy players to fit a system rather than buy players with no clear idea of how to use them, unbalancing the team. Even if we need to move on fan favourites, no player is more than the team.
What have we learnt about our team and players from last season?
We look like we are trying to accommodate Modric and unbalancing the team as a result, Lennon still needs to work on his crossing, Pavlyuchenko was a panic buy waste of money, and the club still attempts to squeeze every last penny out of a transfer deal which is only a good thing if we don’t miss out on targets because we drag our feet. But most importantly, there is no substitute for playing with heart and 110% effort so I hope those who continue to slate Michael Dawson, hang their heads in shame. He will never be the best defender but at least he earns his wage through sweat and effort.
