The club have accepted a £30m offer from an unnamed Chinese club for Mousa Dembele, according to RMC Sport.
The bid from the Far East was believed to have been £60m but with the 100% tax on transfers in China, it means the offer is only worth half as much.
Fans on Twitter reacted to the story:
It’s a bitter fairwell, but it would a good time to move him on. He’s an incredible player, but injury prone and these funds can be used to aquire his replacement Ndombele.

That’s great business tbf, at his age he isn’t that valuable so take it. Give winks more game time and sign another centre mid.

It’s time to move on, we can’t keep getting the rolls Royce out of the garage. I wish him all the best, but if we can get 30m for a 31 year old who is often injured then I’m fine with that. #spurs #dembele

He openly spoke about players going to China about a year ago and seemed keen on it then. Good money if he goes although it will be sad to see him leave

Verdict:
£30m is the asking price that Daniel Levy has reportedly set for the 30-year-old so the bid seems fair enough. Whether Mousa would agree to a move to the Far East is another question entirely.
No decision from the player himself is likely to happen until after the World Cup. There has been talk that he would prefer a move to Italy, but no Serie A team is going to match this offer from China.
Our no.19 has a year left on his contract so he can’t be forced to move if he doesn’t want to, but we would likely want to get some money for him during this transfer window if he doesn’t want to sign a new deal.
