Tottenham Hotspur racked up three Premier League wins on the spin on Sunday as we made the trip to Villa Park to face Aston Villa, and in taking the league double over them this year, we lifted ourselves into fifth place in the top flight.
It was an end to end game where there wasn’t much credit to be given to the defences of either side, but there was certainly applause to be given to the offensive showings, but with goals from Toby Alderweireld and a Son Heung-Min brace, we took the 3-2 victory that we largely deserved, even if manager Jose Mourinho was slightly contritious at Dean Smith’s side not really deserving defeat for their efforts.
It’s no surprise to see statistics website Whoscored better reward our attacking players on the day when it came to the player ratings, but having conceded two goals on the day, there will be those who question Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld featuring in the top six best performances.
Few can dispute Son Heung-Min taking Man of the Match with a score of 8.36 though I’d have thought.
