It’s turned into a disappointing week for Tottenham Hotspur fans. The high of a more vintage 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace feels like a long time ago following the midweek two goal capitulation to Olympiakos and didn’t get much better in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off against Leicester City.
Harry Kane gave us the lead but being unable to build on that advantage, Leicester took full advantage in the second period and hit back twice to take a 2-1 victory and send us to our second defeat of the league season.
Statistics website Whoscored had Leicester edge the tie on player ratings really, and only Harry Kane received a plus seven score – taking Man of the Match with 7.59.
Completing the top five other best performers on the day in their eyes were Danny Rose (6.85), Erik Lamela (6.82), Son Heung-Min (6.72) and Moussa Sissoko (6.69).
I think we can now class this as a little more than just a ‘dip’ but we have to bounce back strongly.
