3 Shots, 2 Key Passes – Some Will Disagree With Spurs’ MotM After Derby Victory

|

Tottenham Hotspur gave a decent reaction to our no show against Bournemouth earlier in the week, and a bit of added vigour helped us to victory over North London Rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors opened the scoring 16 minutes in, but Son Heung-Min had us level three minutes later and the game seemed to be edging towards a draw, despite some decent chances for both sides. With nine remaining in normal time, Toby Alderweireld powered in a Sonny delivery and that was the game. 2-1.

Statistics website Whoscored slightly edged the player ratings our way given our stronger finish to the second half, but Lucas Moura took their star man award by some margin with a score of 8.51 for his efforts on the day.

Maybe not everyone will agree given the performances of others, but I think most would say Lucas was the man today.

NLD MotM?

Lucas Moura

Son Heung-Min

Harry Kane

Toby Alderweireld

Completing the top five performers in their system were Sonny (7.99), Harry Kane (7.77), Toby Alderweireld (7.58) and Harry Winks (6.68).

Still not going to be enough for European football, unfortunately, previous dropping of points will bite hard this year on that front, but we do move back ahead of Arsenal and into eighth spot in the table and we need some momentum for 2020/21.
