Harry Kane continued his amazing pre season, with three more goals against a Birmingham City XI at Spurs lodge today.
Kane, who is already causing massive excitement amongst the Spurs fans, enhanced his reputation against what was effectively a Birmingham reserve side, but it also contained first team players such as Scott Dann, Jonathan Spector, Lomana LuaLua and David Murphy, but they were outclassed by a Spurs side on losing 6-3.
I am slightly worried about pushing the talents of Kane, who is still only seventeen, but the way he seems to score for fun at a time when our strikers can`t score for toffee (hate that phrase, but it seems to fit here), you wonder if he is worth a chance, at least from the bench.
Perhaps he will have to prove himself in the Europa league and show he can score against opposition that is superior to Birmingham reserves, but he certainly seems to have a knack for hitting the net, which seems so difficult for our current occupants…
Just out of interest, the other Spurs goals came from John Bostock, Tom Carroll and out Ivorian sensation Souleymane Coulibaly, and the Spurs team was as follows: Cudicini (Button, 46); Fredericks (Waller-Lassen, 46), Livermore, Nicholson, Townsend; Bentley, Carroll, Luongo, Ceballos, Bostock (Coulibaly, 40); Kane.
