26-Year-Old Is Seizing His Spurs Chance With Both Hands

|

Argentinian goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga had almost become a forgotten man at Tottenham Hotspur but following the injury to accepted Number 1 Hugo Lloris, plenty of fans were hoping the 26-year-old would get his chance ahead of Number 2 Michel Vorm.

That didn’t happen for a few games and old complaints about Vorm came out in the fanbase – whether you think they were a fair reflection on his performances of not – but with Vorm also suffering an injury, manager Mauricio Pochettino had to turn to the man he brought to the club from Southampton back in August 2017.

He hasn’t let anyone down yet either.

Having kept a clean sheet on his debut against Crystal Palace back in November 2017, he’s yet to repeat that trick in his two games in 2018/19 but plenty feel it’s only a matter of time as he’s performed well and continued winning fans over.

Not least his showing against Watford last night where he more than played his part in our victory by saving two of their penalties.

Replacing Lloris is a step too far after such few games, but being the established No 2 shouln’t really be out of the question.
