Thursday’s big transfer news for Tottenham Hotspur was a veiled punt from the rumour mill suggesting that Toby Alderweireld’s future could be finalised in a deal with Bayern Munich.
With the English permanent window closing the other week, most European leagues have windows that remain open until the end of the month and it’s easy pickings for the media to hit the big clubs abroad and then ‘insert’ the name of the player and I’m guessing from the choice of words used, that’s all this really is.
The Mirror report centers around claims that the centre-half has been placed on the German sides shortlist as they look to potentially replace Jerome Boateng, who may or may not be subject to interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
That then lends itself to lines that he ‘could’ join them and they might be ‘plotting’ a move.
I’m guessing it was a quiet day in red top world but regardless of what the speculation continually suggests, it seems Alderweireld’s focus is spot on based on his last two social media Tweets.

Some fans are of course reading into those Tweets, I think mainly to come up with the answer they’ve already decided is right.
